Cardinal Pell in Oxford

His Eminence George Cardinal Pell

The Oxford University Newman Society has been the proud hosts to their principal patron, His Eminence George Cardinal Pell, on the occasion of his visit to his Alma Mater, to inaugurate the Society's annual Thomas More lectures, and launch their fund-raising appeal. Three public events marked this historic occasion, and both forms of the liturgy of the Roman rite were in evidence.

Solemn Vespers, the Conventual Church of St. John of Jerusalem, London

Recently Solemn Vespers took place at the Conventual Church of St. John of Jerusalem, with members of the Institute of Christ the King, to celebrate the decree granting pontifical right to the ICRSS.

Here are a few photos of the event. A reception was held following the event.

A Glorious Weekend on a Few Fronts at Thomas Aquinas College

We have been treated to some particularly fine examples of new church architecture in the past couple of years and this past weekend was no exception as the glorious new chapel of Thomas Aquinas College, Our Lady of the Most Holy Trinity, was consecrated. It is a glorious structure indeed and, I am particularly pleased to report, includes a number of stunning architectural features, including a ciborium magnum.

Do make certain to go and look at more on his Flickr Photoset which includes a number of other details and angles.

The next day, as the Faithful Rebel reports:
The first Mass offered upon the newly consecrated altar after Saturday's dedication Mass was a solemn High Mass offered ... by Father John Berg, Superior General of the Priestly Fraternity of Saint Peter. The Deacon for the Mass was Father Robert Fromageot and the Subdeacon was Father Matthew McNeely, both Fraternity priests.

His Excellency, Bishop Salvatore Cordileone, Auxiliary Bishop of San Diego, was in choir.

Tonsure of IBP Seminarians in Rome

Minor orders were conferred upon some IBP seminarians in the church of San Salvatore in Lauro in Rome .

Photographs from that event are now available off the website of the IBP Seminary.

Here is a selection.
